Vitamin A was given the first letter of the alphabet for a name because it was the first vitamin to be discovered. It was found that vitamin A has a large number of uses in the body including keeping eyes healthy, aiding cell growth and also helping boost the immune system. However, vitamin A is not only absorbed directly but it is also created by the body by converting beta carotene into vitamin A.

Vitamin A itself is found in a number of foods such as eggs, milk, liver and meat. Beta carotene that the body can convert into vitamin A is found in many fruits and vegetables, especially the red, orange and green coloured ones. The most important point to remember that consuming too much pure vitamin A can be toxic. It is essential not to exceed the recommended daily allowance for vitamin A. The actual recommended allowance of vitamin A varies depending on a persons age, sex and other factors. While the actual amount of vitamin A consumed may be toxic if the recommended daily allowance is exceeded, there is a far higher limit to how much beta carotene can be consumed. Therefore it is advisable to concentrate on obtaining the greatest amount of beta carotene which the body can then convert to vitamin A, rather than consuming vast quantities of pure vitamin A rich foods.

Many people will remember being told that eating lots of carrots helps you to see in the dark and that is down to the vitamin A that is produced from the high levels of beta carotene that are found in the vegetables. Other foods which have high levels of beta carotene that can be converted to vitamin A include tomatoes and dark green leafy vegetables, such as spinach. Beta carotene is not only used to form vitamin A, but it is also a powerful antioxidant in itself. None of the beta carotene that is absorbed is wasted as any excess after conversion to vitamin A has taken place is used to fight the harmful free radicals within the body. Vitamin A also helps fight infections and illnesses by helping tissues that line various parts of the body, including the eyes, mouth, nose, throat and lungs, to grow and also to repair them if they are damaged to prevent infection. Children also need plenty of vitamin A to help their bones and teeth to develop properly.

As we all know, vitamins are very important when it comes to keeping your heart healthy. You need to eat the right foods of course, although you also need to supplement the food you eat with the necessary vitamins your body needs to stay in shape and keep your heart working healthy for a long time to come. If you dont consume the right nutrients, you wont be doing your heart any favors – and may end up having problems later on in life.

The first vitamin that comes to mind for most people is vitamin E, a vitamin that is essential to improving the overall health of your heart. When taken correctly, vitamin E will stop the cholesterol in the body from harming the arteries that surround the heart. Anytime cholesterol oxidizes, it sticks to the sides of the arteries and can lead to blockages which can cause heart attacks or other serious problems with the heart.

To help you keep your heart healthy, most doctors recommend that you take additional supplements that contain vitamin E. They may also suggest that you eat foods that are naturally rich in vitamin E, such as nuts. Nuts have high amounts of vitamin E, and most of them taste great. You can find other foods that contain vitamin E as well, although nuts have the highest amounts.

In the past, research has shown Vitamin E to help those who have already suffered the wrath of a heart attack. This vitamin helps to prevent heart attacks in the future by opening up the arteries and eliminate blockage. Those who have had a heart attack in the past are always encouraged to add more vitamin E to their diet.

What many arent aware of, is the fact that you can use vitamin C to boost the effects of vitamin E. Vitamin C is known as an antioxidant, which prevents the damaging effects that cholesterol has on the body. Along with preventing cholesterol from damaging the body, vitamin C also helps vitamin E with its functions – such as protecting your arteries and your heart.

By taking both vitamin C and E as a combination, youll be well on your way to a healthier heart. Overall, this is the easiest way that you can be sure you arent damaging your heart, especially if you have had a heart attack in the past. If you have a history of heart disease or heart problems in your family, these vitamins are essential to your diet. Even if you are just concerned about the health of your heart, these vitamins will give you the peace of mind in knowing that you are eating for a healthy heart.

As far as your dosage goes, it will vary from person to person, although 400 international units of vitamin E and C are the recommended amounts for most people. On its own, vitamin C can be tolerated in large doses, without imposing any harmful effects. You can take around 500 mg of it twice a day, and ensure that your heart remains healthy.

To be on the safe side, you should always make sure that you get the proper amount of vitamins in your daily diet. Taking additional vitamins and supplements isnt a bad idea either, especially if you are trying to boost the health of your heart. Your heart is one of the most important organs in your body, which is why you should always take care of it. If you eat the proper diet and take the necessary vitamins – youll be well on your way to keeping your heart healthy.

Green tea has become a popular drink for those who want to shed some pounds. There are compounds within the tea that promote weight loss by increasing your metabolism. Aside from weight loss, green tea promotes a healthier body by killing bacteria present in the food you take in. Further studies show that green tea can also rid your body of bad cholesterol. It is a way to live with a healthier heart and a leaner physique. Although how tea influences cholesterol levels has never been explained in detail, studies have shown that certain compounds in green tea play a vital role in reducing the amount of unhealthy cholesterol absorbed.

Knowing that your body cannot process unhealthy food as well as it once did when you age, green tea helps you cope with the limitations your body now has. How does green tea help a person lose weight? It raises metabolic rates and speeds up fat oxidation. It also helps you with weight loss by suppressing your appetite and regulating your blood sugar. If you are a coffee addict, green tea makes a wonderful substitute. Although there is less caffeine present in the drink, so you will be just as energized.

Fact is, there are antioxidants present in green tea. For one thing, it has polyphenols. This is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight aging and disease. It also has one particular catechin that is very potent. This catechin contains more antioxidants than vitamins C and E. This helps you fight the free radicals present in your system. It removes the toxins that cause aging and disease. When taken regularly, green tea actually has the ability to lengthen your life.

People in Asia have been drinking green tea for well over 4,000 years. Medical research has recently confirmed what the Chinese have been saying for centuries now: that green tea contains catechins that help you lose weight and keep you feeling active and refreshed. Aside from that, green tea has L-Theanine. This is an amino acid that has tranquilizing effects in the brain. It helps diminish stress and anxiety from your life. It also gives you the ability to focus and concentrate better. Just because it helps you relax doesnt mean that you will eventually get drowsy. It simply calms you by increasing electrical brain activity commonly present when you are relaxed.

The biggest perk is in the fact that those who drink green tea often demonstrate a lower mortality rate. Could green tea stimulate the immune system? Very likely so, if the assumption were to be made based on the results of the study alone.

If you are suffering from any of health problems, start drinking green tea and see just how much it helps you. You will be amazed at the results. Just remember to purchase the freshest one you can find. Those found at the supermarket are good, but the better ones are available online. Where else will you find a drink that helps with weight loss, the prevention of diseases, and lowering cholesterol? Make it a habit to drink a cup or two everyday and see if you agree with the people who swear by it.

The c vitamin has got to be the most widely known vitamin these days. It is not surprising because the body needs c vitamin for over 300 functions. In fact, the c vitamin has been proved to help protect against heart disease, cancer and other serious illnesses. Without the c vitamin the body would not be able to heal itself either. This is because the c vitamin is vital for the formation of collagen. Whenever a person has a cut or an injury it is the collagen that helps repair the damage and without sufficient c vitamin this would be almost impossible. Collagen has a multitude of functions in the body, including keeping the organs in place, and it would not be able to do this without sufficient c vitamin.

The c vitamin is also an antioxidant for the body and helps other vitamins and minerals to be absorbed better. Folic acid and iron, for example, need the c vitamin to maximise their usefulness. The more c vitamin that the body has, the better its defence against colds and other common ailments and the c vitamin may not prevent a person catching a virus but it does help speed up the recovery process.

There is c vitamin in almost every fruit and vegetable but some have far higher c vitamin content than others. Cranberries and melons have high c vitamin content. In fact, tropical fruits have the highest c vitamin amounts of all fruit. Hot peppers are amongst the richest sources of the c vitamin when it comes to vegetables. The hotter the pepper, the higher its c vitamin content is. Unfortunately, the c vitamin is water soluble so many vegetables lose their effectiveness as a c vitamin provider if they are boiled for a long time. Steaming or quick stir frying vegetables ensures that more of their c vitamin content is retained. The recommended daily amount of the c vitamin is easily obtained from eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day if they are consumed raw or cooked quickly.

C vitamin supplements are extremely useful to ensure that people obtain sufficient c vitamin. However, with a balanced diet the amount of c vitamin the body receives is likely to be sufficient. However, if a person begins feeling tired or lethargic then a c vitamin supplement will help overcome this. There is no danger of having too much c vitamin as the body simply excretes the excess.

Though the acai berry has been around for centuries, it wasnt discovered until the 1990s in the western world. It has been used for generations and generations among various tribes, especially around Brazil, for its medicinal purposes.

With the Amazon being the largest rainforest in the world and the acai being grown for the most part in this area, it is easily grown and harvested. Though it is among thousands of different fruits and plants found it the Amazon, it is one of the more prized fruits with its recent discovery of being a great antioxidant and numerous other benefits.

Many tribes throughout and around the Amazon have used the acai berry for both medicinal and sustenance purposes. One of the more prominent tribes, the Shuar, have been using the berry for centuries and are known for their traditions of using the berry for medicine. Shuar tribes have a healer or medicine man or woman known as uwishins who are very knowledgeable about the forest and its secrets. They have learned the different purposes of the plants in the rainforest through experimentation and learning from each other. Theyve even discovered a plant that removes snake venom from the body.

When the acai berry was discovered, tribes throughout the Amazon tested its properties and found out those which are most powerful in todays society such as lowering bad cholesterol, fighting infection, controlling prostate and even promoting a healthy heart. Not only this, but they also revealed that the berry increased energy and even fought off certain diseases that were plaguing Brazilians such as Staphylococcus and Schistosomosis, a disease transmitted by snails.

How did a berry so secluded and very little-known become so famous? It started when sufers along the Brazilian beaches started adding it to drinks and smoothies to help boost their energy when surfing. Soon enough, it became a trend and word started to spread. Researchers and scientists heard of its energy-sustaining property and immediately took it in for experimentation. It was from then on that they realized the acai berrys true potential. With many antioxidants, vitamins and soon-to-be-discovered cancer fighting characteristics, the acai berry became more sought-after by not only the populous, but also other scientists across the world.

Once word started to spread, companies requested to start using it in products such as bars and health snacks due to not only its energy-boosting property, but also the fact that it contained many vitamins and minerals. Not only that, but even incorporated the berry into dishes in restaurants, smoothies just as the Brazilians used them, and in shakes. Not only this, but more recently the acai berry has been capsulated and sold as a diet supplement in drug stores and pharmacies all across the world. Its complete potential may not have been yet discovered, as the acai berry is a relatively new discovery. Rest assured that in the future it might cause some dramatic changes in the way people think and eat, promoting a healthier society and possibly new, natural drugs to help fight off cancer and disease.

Vitamin A was first discovered back in 1912, by a Polish biochemist named Casimir Funk. He came up with the word vitamine, which was later given the name vitamin. Funk was the first to discover vitamins as we know them today, although vitamin A was actually the first one discovered, hence the letter A in the title of the vitamin.

You can find vitamin A in natural foods such as oranges and yellow fruits. It can also be found in vegetables as well, such as spinach and fats. When found in vegetables, vitamin A is water soluble, coming in the form of beta carotene. The beta carotene form of vitamin A can be eliminated from your body through natural processes, making it an excellent way to get vitamin A.

Vitamin A is required by the body on an every day basis to maintain healthy skin and keep your eyesight on track. There are many people who say that carrots provide enough vitamin A to prevent you from getting night blindness. The fact is, ancient Egyptian doctors prescribed liver in their time, which they said contained enough vitamin A to combat night blindness. Vitamin A is also known as an antioxidant, which makes it ideal to prevent cancer and anti aging. Along with these benefits, it also helps with your immune system as well.

To get the proper absorption of vitamin A, youll need to consume fat. Those of you who happen to be on a low fat or restricted diet, simply may not be getting the right amounts of vitamin A from your supplements that you may think. To get the proper absorption of vitamin A in your diet, youll need to consume a high enough level of protein. Protein combines with vitamin A to make it stronger, and help it move through your body.

On a normal day, you should be consuming around 5,000 international units (IU) of vitamin A. Depending on your health and your age, you may need to consume more or less. The safest form of vitamin A is beta carotene as mentioned above, and it can be taken in much larger doses. No matter what age you may be, you can feel safe to consume high amounts of vitamin A in the form of beta carotene.

If you dont consume enough vitamin A in your diet, youll end up with a deficiency. A deficiency is never a good thing, as it normally results in skin problems, increased infections, and even night blindness as well. A prolonged deficiency in vitamin A can put you at a risk for cancer as well, and youll also miss out on any effects of anti aging that the vitamin might have. Although you should begin taking it immediately if you have a deficiency, the effects wouldnt be the same as they would be if you stayed up to date with the right amount on a daily basis.

On the other hand, if you are getting too much vitamin A, youll put yourself at risk for pain in your joints, abdomen, and your bones. Even though too much or not enough can cause you serious side effects, you should always get the right amount in your diet. Vitamin A is very important, and should always be included in your diet. You can find it in many foods, or take supplements that include the well needed vitamin. If you are going to take supplements, you should make sure that they provide the right amounts – with no side effects.

Considered a very powerful antioxidant and anti-aging compound, Resveratrol has become a hit all across the world for over twenty years as a super supplement. Though it has the power to slow and even reverse signs of aging, keep your heart and cardiovascular system healthy, it is more reknown as a weight loss supplement. There are many reasons for this, including increasing energy levels, suppressing appetite, and maintaining a healthy and fast metabolism.

Resveratrol is most commonly derived from red grapes, the skins of which are very high in antioxidants. It isnt without proof, however. Dr. Oz, on the Oprah show, has been promoting this product and even claims it can add up to 20 years to your lifespan. And one of the key factors to living longer is maintaining a healthy weight. This can be achieved many different ways and varies depending on the person and their needs. For some however, exercise and a diet just arent always enough. Thats when weight loss supplements come into play. But people have to be more careful in this new day and age. It is very easy for companies to make generic copies of some fabulous supplement and put it off as the real thing, buyers not knowing any better. This can result in big problems both with the user and the company if something goes wrong. With Resveratrol, however, there are simple ways to find out if its the real deal or not and is generally easy to purchase and use. There has been no controversy over it and there are many great success stories attached.

The main reason for these success stories is due to the fact that Resveratrol can boost and maintain your metabolism. This is the driving force behind fat breakdown and ultimate weight loss. Boosting your metabolism and burning fat helps prevent various diseases such as osteoporosis, heart attacks, cancer and diabetes. These all can impact your health so severely that your life can be shortened and nobody wants to live that way. When taking Resveratrol, having a healthy diet and exercising, your chances of having to deal with any of those diseases will be next to nothing. Even when diet and exercise arent working well for you, Resveratrol, by boosting your metabolism, can then increase your energy level and exercise can come naturally, without you even knowing it. With more energy, not only will you get more accomplished, but you will also feel much better about yourself as you watch the pounds just melt away. What more could you ask for?

There are many reasons people can take Resveratrol. These can range from the fact it has great anti-aging properties to its use as an excellent weight loss supplement. Whatever your reason might be, almost anyone can find a way to put Resveratrol to good use and lead a healthier, happier lifestyle. A trip to the drugstore, a high quality weight loss supplement and you could be looking at adding years onto your life simply by learning of Resveratrol and its amazing benefits.
